a Challenge, or a Quest… for Some Media Makers (old school film making)

I wouldn’t dare cast or ask for a spell, no need to. I will put forth a challenge. Making simple, effective, low budget but not low quality productions. WAIT WHAT????!!! Okay listen to this… a long time ago… this was the NORM. Hollywood actually made a lot of movies prior to television that were not high cost. Back then, their sponsors were just some local wealthy people who co-owned big companies. Sometimes they’d invite their friends to help pay for “the artists”. This challenge probably won’t work for everyone, especially those who lean on visual effects and a lot of bling. However, in times of bad economy… oh like these days… some people may actually like to watch screens with stories that are not necessarily expensive, yet still have “the goods”. Big time filmmakers may not want to bother with these kinds of movies. They could take a break! The greater challenge is the STORYTELLING, CHARACTERS and locations. Orson Welles owned this kind of film making as have some others in recent eras.

I’m not going to pretend to be a film and media scholar. There are so many great at it. Seek them out in person! Buy them lunch or dinner or whatever to chat a while. I’ll wager they like to talk and talk… they may be able to suggest which movies you can use to guide you.

This is my little blessing for those who try to pitch these kinds of projects or are afraid to.
